General Description
The LH vertical immersion sump pumps are separately coupled metallic construction single stage centrifugal pumps for wet pit applications. It is vertical, single stage, single suction suspended pump with separate discharge.
The pump is designed according to API 610 standards VS4 pump type.
Design Features
The pump is vertically suspended, single-casing, volute, line-shaft-driven sump pumps be designated pump type VS4 (API610 VS4).
> Hydraulic design: Various hydraulic design can meet most of the working conditions and required performances.
Casing / Casing cover
> Suction and discharge flanges: ISO7005, AMSE B16.5, DIN and DIN-EN flange standard available.
> Pump casing external nozzle forces and moments: 2 x API610 nozzle load option available.
> Axial bolting retains the casing to the cover and compresses the sealing gasket.
> Double volute casting (DN80 and above) able to balance a radial force, decrease the shaft deflection and bearings wearing, increase the pumps service life.
Impellers
> Axial force balance: The impeller balance hole balances the axial force, and the remaining axial force is borne by the bearing.
> The impellers are a one-piece construction and dynamically balanced.
> All impellers are balanced to ISO 1940 G2.5 class.
> The impellers are fitted with renewable impeller rings (front and back), which are held in place by headless set-screws or welded firmly.
Shaft / Sleeve
Solid and sleeved shafts are available. The impellers are keyed to the pump shaft and keyed on the drive end.
Pump bearings and lubrication
The external thrust bearing is a grease-lubricated duplex angular contact ball bearing. The radial load line bearings are sleeve plain bearings lubricated by product, external flush or grease.
Bearing housing
The external housing contains grease ports and is sealed with lip seals.
Shaft seal
> There is no shaft seal required near the impeller since the pump is submerged. Only a small amount of pressurized fluid escapes through controlled leak paths from the backside of the impeller. Packing or a mechanical seal can be fitted above the sump level to provide vapor proof or pressurized options for the application.
> V-ring, gland packing or mechanical seal can be selected according to the conditions. Seal chamber sizes according to API 682, single, double and tandem mechanical seal all can be selected.
